WASHINGTON (Feb. 22, 2012) -- The Army expects to resume migrations to Department of Defense Enterprise Email by Mar. 17, according to Mike Krieger, Army deputy chief information officer/G-6.

On Feb. 16, the Secretary of the Army John McHugh certified that the Army's approach to the acquisition of DOD Enterprise Email services is in the best technical and financial interests of the Army, and provides for the maximum amount of competition possible. The Army acquisition of DOD Enterprise Email services was designated a formal acquisition program on Jan. 25, 2012.

On Jan. 1, 2012, the Army paused new migrations to DOD Enterprise Email until several questions in the Fiscal Year 2012 National Defense Authorization Act were answered by McHugh.
