Steve Cox promoted to Director, Engineering and Public Works

MCALESTER, Okla.-- Steven W. Cox, McAlester, was named as the Director of Engineering and Public Works at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant (MCAAP) effective immediately. He had been the acting director since the retirement of Terry Wafford on December 31, 2011.

Previous to this position Cox served as the director of contracting from August 12, 2001 - July 8, 2006 and again from May 24, 2009 - April 24, 2010. Previous work assignments at MCAAP include Mechanical Engineer, Supervisory Industrial Engineer and Supervisory General Engineer. Cox has a total of nine years of federal government service, all at MCAAP.

"I look forward to the opportunity to ensure MCAAP's infrastructure, facilities and equipment are ready and able to support the needs of our warfighters," Cox said.

Gary Reasnor, civilian deputy at MCAAP, said, "Mr. Cox comes to the position with a proven track record of success. His experience both in commercial industry as well as government service will be invaluable in moving forward the MCAAP programs that support America's and

allied nations Warfighters. Steve's technical and business acumen enforces the confidence that I have in his ability to fulfill this key leadership role."

McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is the Department of Defense's premier bomb and missile warhead loading facility.
