HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The U.S. Army Materiel Command Band gave the gift of music to the Huntsville community with a free holiday concert at the Thurber Arts Center, Randolph School Dec. 11.

"These are great people and they do great work. It's been an honor to share the stage with you [the AMC band] today," said Greg Screws, co-anchor on WHNT NEWS 19 and the Master of Ceremony for the evening.

The concert included all of the Holiday favorites such a: "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch", "T'was the Night Before Christmas", "O' Holy Night" and "This Christmas".

A special rendition of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" was performed by Staff Sgt. Clifford Hinson and dedicated to deployed service members that will spend Christmas in their 'adopted' home followed by recorded greetings from deployed Soldiers.

Special guest included a visit from Santa Claus, Rudolph the reindeer and Elvis.

"Huntsville supports us in so many ways. This is just our way of giving back to the community. Anytime we want to perform, they give us an opportunity and a venue. This is our holiday gift to Huntsville," Chief Warrant Officer 4 Peter Gillies, AMC band commander said.
