FORT A.P. HILL, Va. -- All are welcome to join Fort A.P. Hill as it rings in the holidays with its annual Christmas Candlelight Service at Liberty Church Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.

Chaplain (Lt. Col.) James D. Gray of the Military District of Washington will officiate a service which will include music and readings.

Liberty Church is associated with one of the oldest Baptist congregations in Caroline County, organized in 1796. The building, constructed in 1850, is a well preserved example of the churches built in the county during the Antebellum period. The structure has been preserved over the past 70 years, since Fort A.P. Hill was established. Because of the historical significance associated with this church it is considered eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

Community members wishing join Fort A.P. Hill in this holiday tradition will need a valid driver's license, car registration and proof of car insurance for access onto the installation.
