The Joint Force Headquarters - National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (JFHQ-NCR/MDW) hosted more than 20 congressional staff members at Fort McNair 25 Oct., 2011. The visit's intent was to increase understanding of how JFHQ-NCR/MDW interacts with local and federal agencies to conduct homeland defense and defense support to civil authorities in the National Capitol Region as well as conducts world-class ceremonial, musical and special events in support of our Nation's leadership.

JFHQ-NCR plans, coordinates, maintains situational awareness, and as directed, employs forces for homeland defense and defense support to civil authorities in the National Capital Region Joint Operations Area to safeguard the Nation's capital. MDW serves as the Army Forces Component and core staff element of the JFHQ-NCR.
