Defense Media Activity holds official ribbon cutting

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to officially open the new headquarters building for the Defense Media Activity, the final new building constructed on Fort George G. Meade as part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure law. The ribbon is cut by Chief Master Sgt. John P. Snow, Senior Enlisted Advisor for DMA, Asuntha Chiang-Smith, Executive Director of Maryland's BRAC cabinet, John M. Moeller, Deputy Installation Commander of Fort Meade and Melvin W. Russell, Acting Director, DMA. The new headquarters is home to 660 employees, 25 percent of which are members of all branches of the military. The 178,000 square foot building is home to news, information and entertainment resources for the Department of Defense including radio, television, internet, print media and emerging media technologies.
