FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo., Oct. 20, 2011 -- More than 100 Soldiers unfurled the Nation's colors at Busch Stadium Wednesday during the opening ceremony for Game 1 of the 2011 World Series.

Major League Baseball dedicated the game between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals to veterans and their families.

First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden attended the event in support of the Joining Forces campaign; a national initiative that encourages communities to provide opportunities and support for service members and their families.

Soldiers carrying the flag came from various units across the installation including the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood Garrison Command.

After the ceremony, Soldiers were invited to stay for the game which ended in a home team win for the Cardinals.
