On his Oct. 10 visit to the Army Sustainment Command exhibit, Army Secretary John McHugh witnessed the Materiel Enterprise taking shape.

Participating in the 2011 Association of the United States Army Annual meeting in Washington, D.C., ASC and its commanding general, Maj. Gen. Yves J. Fontaine, gave McHugh a close-up look at the command's diverse and dynamic missions.

In its role as "The Soldier's Face to the Materiel Enterprise," ASC is connected with the operating forces it supports by a global network of field support brigades and battalions.

Managing field-level equipment reset while also becoming the Army's Lead Materiel Integrator and adding installation Directorate of Logistics capabilities marks ASC as a key element of the Materiel Enterprise.
