"It's a pleasure to announce that Harry Hallock has assumed the position of ACC (Army Contracting Command) deputy director here at Redstone Arsenal (Ala.)," stated Carol E. Lowman, ACC executive director. Hallock assumed his new role Oct. 3.

"I look forward to working with Harry to provide our customers with world class contracting support and to highlight the accomplishments of our fantastic team of contracting professionals," Lowman said. "Harry is an experienced Army contracting professional who served most recently as executive director of the contracting center in Warren, Mich. In his new role with the ACC, he will focus on a variety of issues and challenges within the command."

No stranger to the command or headquarters' staff members, the new deputy director is ready to step in where he is needed.

"I will concentrate on whatever Dr. Lowman wants me to concentrate on," said Hallock, who has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 2007. "We have a good relationship and we look forward to working together as partners. She's the boss and has already told me that she feels comfortable allowing me to take on issues that I feel need to be addressed, and to work closely with her to ensure we keep this organization moving forward."

The deputy has spent his entire career in Michigan, something that he said has helped prepare him for this new leadership role.

"It's been a great foundation for moving into a role like this at a headquarters," Hallock said. "I am familiar with the staff principals and I think we've got a great team here at the headquarters. The headquarters' transition to Huntsville has been a very positive move. We've picked up some really top-notch professionals. Already knowing them a little bit just assists in my assimilating into the organization, and, hopefully, having a positive influence and being effective right out of the gate. I am happy, excited and honored to have been asked to take on these new responsibilities."
