Mr. Robert L. Moore, deputy commander of USASAC, led a U.S. delegation to Singapore to discuss program issues and to participate in the formal commissioning of High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). The Minister of Defense, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, presided over the commissioning ceremony held Sept. 5.

The acquisition of HIMARS is central to bolstering Singapore's modernization and transformational efforts. HIMARS offers the firepower of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) at greater ranges than their legacy towed and self-propelled artillery systems and is easily integrated within the battle-space with other land, maritime, sensor and aerial platforms.
