President awards Purple Hearts to WRAMC patients

WASHINGTON (Army News Service, June 20, 2011) -- President Barack Obama presented Purple Hearts to two wounded servicemembers undergoing treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center June 17.

The visit marked his third to WRAMC and his 10th to a military hospital since becoming president in January 2009. He spent about 90 minutes at the facility with the veterans, 16 of whom were wounded in Afghanistan, five in Iraq.
