Ronna Garrett, officer in charge of U.S. Army Forces Command Forward, gave the keynote address to attendees at the North Carolina Defense Business Association Symposium and Exposition during their luncheon session at Pinehurst, N.C., April 20, 2011. In telling them about the Base Realignment and Closure-directed relocation of FORSCOM & U.S. Army Reserve Command Headquarters to Fort Bragg, N.C., Garrett explained that the three guiding considerations in accomplishing the move have been to maintain continuity of operations, retain or recruit a highly capable workforce and take care of people as they make the move and settle in. Headquarters, Army Forces Command, is making the move from Fort McPherson, Ga., in accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) legislation.
