OK National Guard unit trains at Camp Shelby

CAMP SHELBY, Miss.-- Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center has welcomed additional troops for mobilization training in preparation for their mission in support of overseas contingency operations. Their training will be ongoing through the end of June.

Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center has welcomed approximately 3,200 Soldiers from the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oklahoma Army National Guard.

Troops conducting deployment training will complete extensive live-fire and maneuver exercises now and will continue through the month of June.

Local communities can expect increased traffic along highway US-98 and MS-29 during this extended period of time.

Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center requests that community members are aware of convoy operations traveling to and from Camp Shelby along highway US-98 and MS-29 and respect the speed limits when traveling around a convoy of military vehicles.
