Sgt. Maj. of the Army Visits Fort McNair
Newly-appointed Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler III listens to a briefing with Command Sgt. Maj. Michael W. Williams is the Command Sgt. Maj. of JFHQ-NCR/MDW and hosted Chandler, who was sworn in as the 14th sergeant major of the Army on March 1, 2011. JFHQ-NCR is responsible for protecting the District of Columbia and neighboring counties and cities of Maryland and Virginia, including Loudon, Fairfax and Prince William Counties in Virginia. JFHQ-NCR draws together the existing resources of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and NORAD into a single point headquarters for planning, coordination and execution of the mission in the National Capital Region.
