BETTENDORF, Iowa - Capt. Scott Leifker, Army Sustainment Command's Headquarters and Headquarters Company commander, addressed the Iowa/Illinois Women in Defense Leadership training event at the Waterfront Convention Center on March 10.

As a wounded warrior, Leifker spoke of his experiences as a Soldier and how to develop yourself to become a better leader.

"What do you want to be' Identify your priorities and set your goals through short-term and long-term strategies," said Leifker. "You have to lay a road to where you're going to achieve success through both education and experience. In the military, you need your friends and family to assist you in following your road to success. They deserve a lot of credit in supporting me."

The theme for the training sponsored by the WID local chapter was "Leadership: The Road to Success." The all-day event provided attendees the opportunity to network with other organizations and obtain education on career development.
