HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga. - About 150 Hunter Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon competitors met at Hunter the morning of March 5 for the second triathlon and duathlon competition.
The first Hunter Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon was held in 2010 with about 110 competitors.
Family Members and friends stood on the side lines and watched the triathlon athletes compete in the 300-meter swim, followed by a 14.4 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run on post.
The duathlon events included a one-mile run, a 12.4 mile bike ride and a 3.1 mile run.
Race director Radek Parnica, Savannah Triathlon, said the event is meant to inspire people of all ages and fitness levels and to encourage them to compete in endurance sports. He thanked the Hunter community for providing a safe location to have the event for the local community.
