FORT RUCKER, Ala. -- Nine people and two dogs explored the back trails of Fort Rucker on all-terrain vehicles during the outdoor recreation ATV trail ride Feb. 26.

The guided ride took participants off-road through normally restricted trails and training areas.

This was the first time out since last spring for several riders and the first time on the trail for one machine.

"I just bought this and haven't really had a chance to get it out yet," said CW4 Bryan Sills, Warrant Officer Career Course instructor. "I haven't been on a ride before, but my neighbor was on the last one and said it was fun."

After a safety check of all the vehicles and making sure everyone had their personal protective equipment, Mark Yoakum, ODR assistant business manager spoke to the riders.

"We're very lucky to be able to do this, so stay on the trails, be safe and we can continue to do rides like this," he said. "We're going to hit every trail we can hit and be back when we quit having fun."

Because of positive feedback, this is the second ATV trail ride hosted by ODR and there is another one planned for Aug. 13.
