The annual Army Emergency Relief (AER) campaign will run from 1 March through 15 May 2011.

Army Emergency Relief is a private non-profit organization incorporated in 1942 to provide financial assistance to Soldiers, active and retired, and their Families. Since AER's founding over 3.3 million Soldiers and their Families have received more than $1.3 billion in support from Army Emergency Relief.

In 2010, AER provided $69.7 million in No-Interest Loans and Grants to relieve financial distress to 62,000 Soldiers and their Families for a wide range of needs to include rent, food, vehicle repair and travel expenses. They also distributed 861 grants for health and comfort items to medically evacuated Wounded Warriors; enrolled 326 Survivors of Fallen Soldiers in lifetime benefits counseling; granted $7.9 million to help meet undergraduate education needs; provided 3,170 scholarships to children of Soldiers and provided 1,761 scholarships to spouses of Soldiers.

Access to financial assistance is available 24/7 worldwide directly through one of 86 AER Sections located Worldwide or through 347 other military bases with the: Air Force, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance or 645 local chapters of the American Red Cross.
