Local veteran's group brings Valentine cheer to brigade's heroes
FORT EUSTIS - Dee Guillory (left) Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6002, Ladies Auxiliary, presents Lt. Col. Marc Spencer, rear detachment deputy commanding officer, 7th Sustainment Brigade a bundle of Valentine's Day cards Feb. 14 in front of the brigade's headquarters. The cards were made by the post's Ladies Auxiliary Junior Girls Unit and given to Soldiers of the brigade who recently returned home from deployment operations. Spencer, who a short time ago returned from a 12-month deployment to Afghanistan as the commander of the brigade's 382nd Transportation Theater Opening Element, Special Troops Battalion, expressed great thanks to the auxiliary's Junior Girls for taking the time to make the cards and bring his Soldiers a bit of Valentine's Day cheer. "Happy Valentine's Day to our American heroes," said Guillory as she handed the bundle of brightly colored cards to Spencer. "We are here to support you and the entire community of veterans stationed at Fort Eustis."
