FORT EUSTIS, Va (Jan. 28) - The 7th Sustainment Brigade enjoyed a visit from Lt. Gen. Howard Bromberg, the U.S. Army Forces Command deputy commanding general, Jan. 28.

The visit began with the brigade's deployment ceremony at Anderson Field House and was immediately followed by a deployment brief in the 7th Sus. Bde. conference room. The 'Resolute' leadership and staff detailed the brigade's plans for their upcoming deployment, including the mission sets for both forward and rear personnel. Bromberg gave advice on deployment and his personal lessons learned.

"This visit gave Lieutenant General Bromberg a great insight on the capabilities of this brigade," said Col. Lawrence Kominiak, the 7th Sustainment Brigade commander. "The briefing went exceptionally well."

The tour continued to lunch at the Resolute Dining Facility with Brig. Gen. Robin Akin, the 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) commanding general, the 7th Sus. Bde. command team and the brigade's subordinate battalion command teams. During the meal, Bromberg gave insight on the Army's current and future plans, and fielded questions from the battalion command teams.

Bromberg's final stop was to 3rd Port for a tour of the Logistics Support Vessel-1, Large Tug-805 and Landing Craft Utility-01. Each ship's vessel master and crew gave a tour of the bridge, outlined the vessel's capabilities, explained the history of the vessel, gave a tour of the engine room and answered any questions Bromberg had.

"He (Bromberg) is taking a way an understanding of the many missions this brigade is involved in," said Chief Warrant Officer Bill Slusher, the Logistics Support Vessel-4 vessel master. "We are showing him what these vessels are capable of and some of the important missions they have been involved in."

Bromberg expressed his astonishment with the brigade mission and its achievements before departing.

"This has been a great visit for me," said Bromberg. "It's amazing to see the complex mission and tasks this brigade accomplishes every day. This unit's success is a testament to the Soldiers and leadership in this organization."
