Supply, maintenance units awarded for excellence

YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea - Eighth Army maintenance and supply units were recognized for excellence during a ceremony here Dec. 16.

Eighth Army Deputy Commander Maj. Gen. Robert Williamson and Command Sgt. Maj. Robert A. Winzenried presented awards to the winners and runner ups.

"I'm very proud to represent my team," said John W. Chizmar, a director at this year's maintenance excellence winner, the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command. "I wish I could bring all 400 of my employees here to theater."

The awardees received coins and plaques.

"Inspection was pretty tough, but I feel that my efforts were rewarded," said Yi Naeung from the 176 Financial Management Company. The company was selected as the winner of supply excellence program.

The 8th Army Award for Maintenance Excellence annually evaluates and distinguishes winners of total unit maintenance operations at the unit level to improve and sustain unit maintenance readiness.

The 8th Army Supply Excellence Program recognizes supply excellence at the unit level.
