Interagency Partner Appreciated
Maj. Gen. Karl R. Horst presents Jeffrey W. Irvine, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Secret Service, Washington field office, with a memento for his service as deputy assistant director within the office of investigations for the US Secret Service, Dec. 14 at Fort McNair. Horst, commander of Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington, said "The National Capital Region is a special place to work and serve and the key to our combined success is our friendships and relationships with our interagency partners." The ceremony was co-hosted by Horst and Cathy L. Lanier, chief of Metropolitan Police Department, District of Columbia. Other interagency partners attending the ceremony included key leadership from the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Park Police, United States' Attorney's Office, United States Capitol Police and Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority Police Department. The command's interagency engagement strategy is designed to develop partnerships with local, state, regional and federal agencies to synchronize efforts and ensure mutual understanding of missions, functions and capabilities.
