The Rock Island Arsenal Garrison conducted a Safety Stand-Down, Nov. 15-19, under an Installation Management Command-North East, operation order.
IMCOM directed training to focus changing behavior to save lives, prevent accidents, injuries, and protect property. Employees trained in both classroom and on-line courses.
"The stand down was an excellent opportunity for Garrison employees to receive additional training on safety, discuss concerns with associates, and identify and correct hazards in their work areas," said Ed Welch, Garrison Safety Office. "The stand down also served as a reminder to use safety at home, particularly during the holiday season."
Directorates were responsible for conducting at least two hours of individualized work area specific topics and interaction with employees to discuss safety practices, procedures or safety issues.
