ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Rock Island, Ill. Aca,!" The Fallen Service Member Memorial was dedicated Nov. 15 during a ceremony held at Heritage Hall, Bldg. 60, on Rock Island Arsenal.

Dollie Carpenter, program manager, Survivor Outreach Services, said, "I am thankful that the Rock Island Arsenal not only supported my idea of a permanent memorial in the museum, but was anxious to see how they could help. My goal for surviving families was for them to truly know that they are not forgotten, that we are so grateful for their sacrifice, and here at the Arsenal, we truly will never forget our fallen heroes. I believe I have accomplished my goal as I heard several times from survivors, 'This was worth coming to'."

The memorial consists of the Fallen Comrade Table, a folded flag in a case with a poster of the explanation, a picture of a flag presentation to a survivor, a flat screen TV that is mounted on the wall that displays digital photos of local fallen service members, and information regarding the Survivor Outreach Services Program.

The Fallen Service Member Memorial is now a permanent display at the Rock Island Arsenal Museum.
