They're Back
The 502nd Engineer Company returned home to Fort Knox Aug. 23 around 2 a.m. Lt. Col. David Ray, the 19th Engineer Battalion commander, welcomed the troops home. "Welcome home and job well done," he said. "It's great to have you home -- safe and sound." The 502nd Multi-role Bridge Company deployed to Afghanistan one year ago where they constructed bridges essential to the Army's mission. The bridges ensured that critical supply lines were maintained and supported coalition service members across the theater. Amanda Sanders kissed her husband, Sgt. Jason Sanders, while their daughter Karley peaked beneath them.
