The Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission Arlington County visits JHQ-NCR/MDW
Members of the Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission Arlington County gain valuable insight about the mission, capabilities, and critical role in support of homeland defense the Joint Force Headquarters - National Capitol Region and The U.S. Army Military District of Washington provides during a briefing in the Joint Operations Center by Mr. Egon Hawrylak, deputy commander, Aug. 19, 2010. The Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission was created by the County Board May 15, 2009, to be an overarching advisory body charged with coordinating the efforts of the Local Emergency Planning Committee, as well as Emergency Medical Services and the Citizen Corps Council. The Commission is created in recognition that preparedness efforts must be collaborative and when, confronted with a crisis, the community must respond as a system in order to ensure the greatest service to those in need.
