Fort Belvoir, Va. -- Soldiers around the world can support the USMA Black Knights lacrosse team as they take on Cornell this weekend, thanks to an agreement between ESPN and Army Knowledge Online/Defense Knowledge Online.

Sunday's face-off, taking place at 1600 GMT, follows on the heels of Army's dazzling double-overtime upset of two-time defending champion, Syracuse. During the NCAA Tournament's 39-year existence, Syracuse has claimed 10 national titles.

Army junior goalkeeper Tom Palesky of Plano, Texas, will be part of this history-making event.

"At the beginning of the season we have one over-arching goal and the game on Sunday is one more step towards reaching it," said Palesky. Army's seasons started rough, with the team boasting a 3-5 record. Yet, the Black Knights persevered, finishing out the regular season on a winning streak. "The guys on the team focus on the task at hand -- and never look past an opponent."

ESPN is providing a free feed of the game to anyone with an AKO/DKO account. AKO/DKO is the largest organizational intranet in the world with nearly 2.3 million users. A link on the portal's home page will take users to the appropriate portion of the site. The American Forces Network will also broadcast the game.

"Sunday is going to be a great day out," said Palesky, who, like other newly-commissioned officers, plans on serving a nation at war. "

"After graduating I hope to either be an infantry or field artillery officer," he said. "Wherever I end up I know I'll be happy."
