  • Six current and former 27th Infantry Regiment battalion commanders join the honorary regimental command sergeant major before the start of the regimental run May 4 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.  The Wolfhounds are celebrating their 109th birthday during with an organizational week that includes the run, sporting events and a regimental photo.  In a unique coincidence, the four former battalion commanders are all currently assigned in Hawaii.  From left to right Col. Thomas Guthrie (former 2-27 commander); Col. Walt Piatt (former 2-27 commander); Lt. Col. Don Brown (current 1-27 commander); Maj. Gen. Bernard Champoux (former 1-27 commander, current 25th Inf. Div. commander); Jim McKinney (honorary regimental command sergeant major); Lt. Col. Dan Wilson (current 2-27 commander); and Lt. Col. Raul Gonzalez (former 2-27 commander).
