FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (April 29, 2010) - The U.S. Army Combat Studies Institute, Combined Arms Center, will host its eighth annual symposium entitled "Cultivating Leadership: Historical Perspectives," Aug. 1-12 at the Lewis and Clark Center. The symposium will include a variety of guest speakers, panel sessions, and general discussions.

Confirmed guest speakers are Dr. Brian Linn, retired Gen. Gordon Sullivan and Brig. Gen. H.R. McMaster.

This symposium will explore the development of leaders within the U.S. Army in order to attain national goals and objectives in peace and war within a historical context. The symposium will also include discussion of current issues and trends, as well as sister services and international topics. A program will be published sent in a separate message and posted on the CSI website when complete.

The Combat Studies Institute will publish the proceedings of the conference in an edited volume within approximately six months from the conclusion of the conference.
