Name: Linda A. Ratliff, G-1 administrative assistant, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, Huntsville, Ala.

Hometown: Birmingham, Ala.

Years of federal service: 20 years military (retired); taught ROTC in public school for seven years; at USASMDC/ARSTRAT for a year and a half (part of that as a contractor)

Education: Bachelor's degree in business management

Marital status: Married to the wonderful retired Sgt. Maj. Bobbie Ratliff

Children: Three sons - Derrick, Keith and Kevin; two grandsons - Derrick and Shawn

Activities/hobbies: Listening to music, walking/exercising, singing

Favorite movie: Akela and the Bee

Favorite TV show: CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds

Favorite band: None - just like music

Favorite thing about working for the Army: My favorite thing is the experience you get being a part and being able to make a difference. Every job contributes to the success of the overall mission. The team concept is fantastic and lets us know that we need each other to make things happen.

What made you want to work for the Army: I have always wanted to travel and discover what was going on in other places around the world. The Army afforded me that opportunity, while allowing me to enhance my education. I have experienced so much working for the Army and have seen so much. I am truly blessed and am grateful for the opportunity to serve our great country.
