210th Brigade Support Battalion Soldiers Train Iraqis in Supply Management
Lt. Col. Thomas Murphy of Lancaster, N.Y., commander of 210th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, awards Chief Warrant Officer Abd Ameer Ridha, the supply chief with 1st Iraqi Federal Police Division, with a battalion coin April 22 for his hard work and dedication for establishing a functional supply warehouse for the 1st FP Division at Joint Security Station Loyalty.

BAGHDAD - Soldiers with a 10th Mountain Division Logistics Transition and Advisory team have spent the past four weeks in an Iraqi federal police supply warehouse teaching the FP accountability, inventory and organization techniques.

On April 22, the LTAT Soldiers from 210th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division trained the 1st Iraqi Federal Police Division Sustainment Battalion in supply management and vehicle maintenance at Joint Security Station Loyalty.

Soldiers and FP sorted through vehicle parts, weapons, ammunition, uniforms, vehicle lubricants and construction supplies putting together an effective working supply warehouse.

"They have a lot down already. The classes we have with [the FP] worked really well," said Spc. Ana Pale, an automated logistics specialist, assigned to 210th BSB.

The numerous long days the LTAT and FP have worked together at the warehouse has helped them build a strong relationship.

"I have a lot of experience in the job, but I gained a lot of experience from the U.S. Soldiers," said Chief Warrant Officer Abd Ameer Ridha, a supply specialist assigned to 1st FP Division.

The LTAT has also been training mechanics on inspection and repair techniques for the Humvee and how to get the right parts to complete the repairs.

"As soon as [the FP mechanic] got to a point ... replacing a fuel filter, I was tightening it all down trying to get it all back together," said Spc. Adrian Cross, a mechanic with the LTAT. He was saying 'give me, give me.' After that, it was smooth sailing with him putting the transfer case back in, getting the tires back on and getting the truck serviced, and he got [the truck] moving."
