FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska - Lt. Col. Nick Sengstacke, chief of education, Medical Department Activity-Alaska, chills out and waits for the elusive nibble during Saturday's ice fishing trip to Birch Lake sponsored by Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Outdoor Recreation. While none of the nine participants caught any fish, the experience of driving onto the lake, drilling a hole in four feet of ice, sitting out on the lake with a pole or in a hut heated by a wood stove, and collecting fishing stories made the experience worthwhile, Sengstacke said.
