Redistribution Center Saves Army Money

  • Workers at the Theater Redistribution Center, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, lower a Humvee transmission onto a draining pallet to remove fluids before sending it off to be refurbished. The center is responsible for taking in equipment brought from Iraq and determining if it can be reused or repaired. The process saves the U.S. military millions of dollars in new equipment and helps Third Army in the fast dispersion of supplies to U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

At a high point in the drawdown, the month of October saw a $12,119,283 savings in redistributed medical supplies alone.
