FORT SILL, Okla.--After six weeks of giving from their hearts and pockets, federal employees in Comanche County pushed the Lawton-Fort Sill Combined Federal Campaign over its campaign goal of $285,000.

When the campaign officially closed, donations totaled $334,200 with last-minute money still coming into the CFC operations office.

"I\'m delighted we were able to reach our goal," said Cheryl Foster, campaign coordinator. "The money collected will help hundreds of CFC organizations, including several in our Lawton-Fort Sill area that need our generosity and support. This is a wonderful way to begin a holiday period."

Foster and other members of the CFC staff expressed sincere appreciation for strong command support and the hard work of everyone involved in the six-week campaign.

"The work you did in support of those in need across our community and throughout the world is an example of the selfless service of federal employees. Through your support, CFC donations will touch thousands of lives in a caring manner in our community and across the world. This is especially important as so many continue to face economic challenges," Foster said.

"The majority of this year's donors chose to use the ease and convenience of payroll deduction for their CFC donation" Foster said.

Donating through CFC gives a donor the opportunity to choose up to five organizations to support with a contribution. The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations on the national, international, and local levels. This year's campaign included more than 2,400 charities. For more information, call the CFC office at 442-3113 or 442-6472 or stop by 4700 North Mow-Way Road.
