Camp Hitashi-Chitose Christmas Tree
CAMP HITASHI-CHITOSE, Japan — A Christmas tree, adorned with more than 350 lights, sits near the front entrance of the camp as a constant holiday reminder for all Yama Sakura 57 participants. The tree is designed with red, white and blue lights, symbolizing both the U.S. and Japanese flags. Yama Sakura, which means "Mountain Cherry Blossom," is an annual, full- spectrum, combined command post exercise with U.S. and Japanese military forces working to strengthen Japan's self defense operations.
