ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. Aca,!" The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command recognized outstanding Soldiers and civilian employees Dec. 1 at a quarterly town hall meeting.
Major Gen. Paul S. Izzo presented Army awards to more than 30 staff members at his final public event before a change of command ceremony 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Recreation Center. Izzo will be leaving the organization and retiring from the Army.
The RDECOM and garrison staff took advantage of the public forum to present the general with some parting gifts and mementos.
"I'm honored, and I'll cherish those gifts forever," Izzo said. "I've got the best team anybody can have." Izzo encouraged the workforce to cherish the moment and not let life pass them by. "My hat is off to this whole team," he said.
