Madigan Healthcare System earns Gold Award for outstanding stroke care

- American Heart Association and American Stroke Association bestow national-level recognition on Madigan
Madigan Healthcare System has been named a 2009 Gold Sustained Performance Award recipient by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.
The Sustained Performance Award is given by in recognition for "two or more years at 85 percent or higher adherence in all performance measures applicable to one or more of the following: coronary artery disease, heart failure and/or stroke."
By using the "Get With The Guidelines" quality improvement program developed by the AHA and ASA, Madigan providers strive to improve patient outcomes by delivering care that's consistent with the most up-to-date evidence-based practices.
"This award encompasses the care provided by the departments of neurology, emergency medicine, radiology and ancillary services at Madigan," said Col. (Dr.) Beverly R. Scott, chief of the neurology service at Madigan. "This award illustrates the dedication Madigan providers possess in utilizing the best quality of care measures for their stroke patients."
