October 27, 2009
RED CLOUD GARRISON - Beginning Nov. 9 Area 1 students enrolled in Yongsan Department of Defense Education Activity schools will be provided no-cost round trip daily school buses.
The buses will transport students, kindergarten through 12th grade, from pick-up points located on USAG-Red Cloud and USAG -Casey to the Seoul American Schools located on Yongsan Garrison. Students should be at their assigned bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
"This new initiative provided at U.S. Government expense for current and prospective eligible students provides no cost transportation for students attending the Yongsan DoDEA school system" said Col. Larry 'Pepper' Jackson, USAG-RC commander.
This student transportation service is for current and newly enrolled students attending Seoul American Schools. Sponsors requiring bus transportation for their children must bring a copy of Form 600, Student Registration, to the Seoul American School Student Transportation Office to register for bus transportation. All students must possess a school bus pass issued by the DoDEA Student Transportation Office to ride the bus. Children without proper bus passes will not be allowed to ride the bus.
"Parents are still responsible for dropping off and picking up their children to and from pick-up points located on USAG-Red Cloud or USAG-Casey," Jackson said. "All children in kindergarten through second grade must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the pick-up and drop-off periods.
