Warrant Officer claims top honors during FMWR 5k run on Columbus Day weekend
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jose Gomez, an aviation pilot with C Company, 4-2 Aviation, 2nd Infantry Division, continues to stride toward the finish line during the 5K Run Oct. 10 in front of the USAG-RC Physical Fitness Center. Gomez, who trains to participate in triathlons, grabbed a second wind by sprinting past Choe, Chong-mun, a civilian working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Services who ran the 3 mile race in 20 minutes, 38 seconds, for second place. Gomez finished first in the event with a time of 20 minutes and 30 seconds. "It was my first time winning and I like to support Family, Morale Welfare and Recreation and stay in shape," Gomez said. "Hopefully, next year I can do the Iron Man competition, and I would like to see more people come out to the these events." - U.S. Army photo by Pvt. Jamal A. Walker
