PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. - What do Halloween, ice cream sundaes, and a Family Readiness Group have in common' Not much really, unless you are part of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Space Brigade. On the evening of Oct. 13, a group of 43 Soldiers and their Family members from the company gathered in the training rooms of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Operations Building 3, on Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., for a Family Readiness Group meeting.

The objective was to welcome new Soldiers and their Families to HHC by having them fill out Family data sheets, explain to them what the brigade's FRG is all about and what it has to offer. A draw to the meeting was of course ice cream sundaes with virtually every topping you could imagine.

According to Capt. Christy Orser, commander of HHC, this was also an excellent opportunity to meet the two new FRG representatives, Christie Anderson and Bridget Manalo, who are replacing outgoing representative, Summer Rhodes.

In addition to the meeting and the sundaes, kids and parents also helped fill Halloween care packages for five HHC Soldiers who are currently deployed. The littlest members of the group took to creating cards for each Soldier using Halloween decorations.

There were no tricks but a lot of treats for those in attendance ... and the Soldiers who will receive their Halloween care packages.
