Bringing a lost Soldier home
The Fort McPherson U.S. Army Garrison Funeral Honors Team carries the casket of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kenneth L. Stancil at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Oct. 2, prior to placing him in the hearse that will carry him home to Chattanooga, Tenn. Stancil went missing in action when his helicopter went down Dec. 28, 1965 during a re-supply mission in Vietnam. Stancil's remains were recovered earlier this year after 44 years of searching and negotiations with the Vietnamese government. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Stancil Wells, and brother Don.
