The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command's 49th Missile Defense Battalion (Ground-based Midcourse Defense) from Fort Greely, Alaska won the All Army National Guard Combatives Tournament Aug. 30 at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Many individuals placed highly in their individual categories.The team captured three first place individual wins and one third place individual win:

Pfc. Sean Davis, 1st Place in the 125 pound weight class;

Sgt. Matthew Campbell, 1st place in the 155 pound weight class;

1st Lt. Ryan Skaw, 1st place in the 205 pound weight class; and

Spc. Joshua Hanson, 3rd place in the 220 pound weight class.

Other contributing team members are Pfc. Matthew Briand; Staff Sgt. Rueben Vargas; Staff Sgt. Larry Martin and Staff Sgt. Adam Emmons. The team's outstanding performance achieved them an overall team win by 50 points.
