ORD MILITARY Community recently received its own "British Invasion" but this time in the form of soccer coaches. During the week of July 20 through 24, the Porter Youth Center sponsored a British Soccer Camp for community youths.

Twenty-five soccer enthusiasts ranging in age from 3 to 12-years old participated in the sessions.

They were tutored by two coaches who came over from the United Kingdom to lead the sessions as part of a 10-week tour of California and Oregon. The coaches taught the fundamental skills involved in soccer, sportsmanship, respect, and how to be part of a team.

On the final day the parents got into the groups and participated with the kids.

It was a lot of fun, a great learning experience and a good bonding experience for the families, according to Andy Lipsig, Porter Youth Center Manager.
