<h4>Kansas National Guard Emergency Relief Fund</h4>

<p>The Kansas Military Emergency Relief Fund provides conditional emergency financial assistance to qualified members of the Kansas Army and Air National Guard, Army Reserve, and their recognized Family Members during the period preceding, during, and after mobilization. The funds are made available through grants and interest free loans for medical, funeral, emergency travel, rent, utilities, child care, food expenses and other unanticipated financial emergencies. </p>

<h4>Kansas National Guard Foundation</h4>

<p>The Kansas National Guard Foundation, Inc. provide financial support for programs aimed at helping National Guardsmen, their Families, and their communities in handling various aspects of military deployments. Programs supported by the Foundation include resident camps for military children, community meetings, and deployment and reintegration training for military Families. <p>

<h4>Hearts Of America</h4>

<p>Hearts of America gathers items to send to military men and women serving in the Middle East. Items collected include hygiene items, treats, blankets, new black socks, and small pillows. They also collect items for humanitarian efforts such as school supplies, shoes, small stuffed animals, and fast food size toys. <h4>Military Spouse Residency Relief Act</h4>

<p>On November 11, 2009, the President signed into law the Military Spouse Residency Relief Act. This Act, among other things, provides that when a service member leaves his or her home State in accord with military or naval orders, the service member's spouse may retain residency in his or her home State for voting and tax purposes, after relocating from that State to accompany the service member. In the State of Kansas an exemption from Kansas withholding tax may be claimed if an employees spouse is a member of the US Armed Services and their state of legal residence is not Kansas.
