The Fire Prevention Branch of the U.S. Army Garrison Directorate of Emergency Services Fire Department conducted fire prevention and life safety training June 15 with Soldiers from the 1stAca,!E+Battalion, 347th Combat Support/Combat Service Support Regiment, First Army, Fort Gillem. Fire inspectors took Soldiers from classroom training on fire safety to extinguishing and reporting simulated fires in both kitchen and industrial settings. The training was conducted using the department\'s new fire prevention trailer. While inside the trailer, Soldiers were faced with all the characteristics of a real fire, such as heat and smoke. The primary training aids used to extinguish the computer-generated fires were laser fire extinguishers. These extinguishers have all the characteristics of actual fire extinguishers, giving Soldiers realistic, hands-on training.
