FORT STEWART, Ga.- Bradley fighting vehicle crews from Co. A, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, conducted their crew qualifications, July 10 at the Red Cloud-A range.

Bradley crews must complete all of the qualification tables successfully to be considered qualified and ready for combat.

There are eight crew qualification tables that take the crews from the basic movements skills through full action of engaging targets while on the move.

"Table eight is the culminating event of Bradley crew gunnery," said Co. A commander, Capt. Melvin Lowe.

"Table eight is where you combine all the skills and techniques you have learned in the previous tables, and you put them to the test in one final evaluation."

The leadership of the battalion used knowledge from prior deployments and training to customize this table eight for the upcoming deployment.

The scenarios of the qualification were changed to match situations the Soldiers will face during their deployment.

"The difference in this table 8 opposed to previous table 8 is the scenarios are slightly different.

Instead of fighting threats such as armored vehicles and heavy truck targets from a distance as was done in the past, the targets are brought in closer and we are shooting primarily enemy troop targets and light wheeled vehicles that would be seen in engagements in Iraq, Capt. Lowe explained.

The Soldiers of Co. A were praised by their leadership for staying focused and putting their all into the training, even after having spent the prior night conducting table seven.

The Bradley crews of Co. A, 3/69 AR are considered combat ready and preparing for the platoon level qualification during table twelve. After their table twelve the Soldiers will turn their attention to the upcoming National Training Center rotation and following deployment.
