MOSUL, Iraq - Kenneth Stone on May 31 was promoted outside the Greywolf tactical operations center from Sgt. First Class to Master Sgt. He has spent 19 years in the Army and worked for every bit of his promotion.

On Forward Operating Base Marez there are few Soldiers who work as hard as newly promoted Master Sgt. Kenneth Stone. As one of the guiding lights of the FECC he leads his troops through the darkest of times, allowing nothing to stop him in his mission.

"Master Sgt. Stone is a great guy," said Spc. Randy Bago, who has worked closely with Master Sgt. Stone for months now, "he takes care of his Soldiers, he looks out for them."
