Sergeant Major Kennoth O. Preston celebrates the Army's Birthday at the Detroit Arsenal

Soldiers, Retirees, DA Civilians and Spouses at the Detroit Arsenal celebrated the U.S. Army's 234th birthday by attending a black-tie dinner/dance at the San Marino Club, Troy.

Hosted by MG Scott G. West, the gala provided an opportunity for the 381 attendees to enjoy each other's camaraderie while honoring our Army's achievements in support of the Warfighter.

Highlighting the "Year of the NCO", the honor of presenting the toasts and cutting the cake was bestowed upon the Non-Commissioned Officers. Guests of honor at the Birthday Ball included CSM Kenneth O. Preston, Sergeant Major of the Army, Mr. Murray Moorhatch, WWII Veteran, and his wife Patricia, and SSG Robert E. Ankobea-Ansah, 2009 TACOM LCMC NCO of the Year, and his wife Mercy.

Fourteen Senior Executive Service members and 18 Business Group Directors/Managers were present at the event, along with BG R. David Ogg Jr., Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems, Ms. Brenda Lee McCullough, Garrison Manager, and CSM Otis Cuffee, Command Sergeant Major, TACOM LCMC.
