On May 1 Dr. Susan Duncan, deputy assistant G-1 for civilian personnel, announced Edward J. Doucette, director, Warfighter Protection and Aerial Delivery Directorate, U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, winner of the 2008 John W. Macy, Jr., Award.

According to Army Civilian Human Resources, the John W. Macy, Jr. Award exemplifies both the highest traditions established by Macy; the Army's philosophy that leaders are responsible for civilian human resource management; and is intended to identify and recognize role models whose teams set the standard for other leaders of our Soldier-Civilian teams.

Doucette will receive his award during a Pentagon Hall of Heroes ceremony hosted by the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) May 14.
