Occupational therapists help Soldiers heal through Leisure-Relaxation tools.
Spc. Donna Leis, 23, Company D, 1st Battalion, Warrior Transition Brigade,
puts the finishing touches on "The Three Soldiers," one of the modeling and
crafting kits used by Fort Hood's occupational therapists to help Soldiers heal, as well a to relieve stress. Leis, who hails from Ark, Kansas, chose "The Three Soldiers," modeled after the famous Vietnam War Memorial, because of its historical significance and representation of veterans of all generations. Besides the soldier modeling kits, occupational therapy Leisure-Relaxation tools include coloring books, model-car assembly packages and leather, wood-working and paint kits. Leisure Relaxation is a core program of occupational therapy, which celebrated its 82nd year in April. (Photo by Gloria Montgomery, WTB Public Affairs).
